An Important Note about Costume

The basic costume for every cast member will be BLACK TROUSERS (any style) or SKIRT (Knee length or longer, with Black Tights) and WHITE SHIRT/BLOUSE, plus 'Avondale' school Tie.

The TIE will be supplied for you, but you must source the TROUSERS/SKIRT and SHIRT/BLOUSE yourself, by SUNDAY 8th MARCH.

Any other items of costume will be sourced by the costume team.

A note on rehearsals...

Rehearsals are going really well so far, so a big thank you to everyone.
You've created a really fun atmosphere, and also started to create really interesting, believable and entertaining characters.

On a more serious note, there were a number of absences yesterday - some people had come to see me to explain why, but some had not. Don't think that if you've only got a few lines that you won't be missed - everyone involved in a scene is needed when rehearsing that scene. People who miss too many rehearsals will find that their parts will be re-cast. This isn't a punishment, and its not personal, we just can't afford the time. Please make sure you are there in future.

First Read Through.

Okay, the first read through was a blistering success - I'm really happy with everyone's initial interpretations of their character. Also, to those younger cast members who are taking the cameo parts, well done on your performance last night. I do hope you'll continue to take part in school plays as you move up the school.

I have listened back to the audio recording of the rehearsal, and it's actually of a pretty good quality. I will prepare it as an audio CD over the weekend, and have a meeting next week to distribute them and collect back your parental consent forms. If anyone doesn't have a parental consent form yet, please come and collect one a.s.a.p.

Auditions

The first round of Auditions will be taking place on Wednesday 12th November between 4-6 (study club).

All those wishing to Audition should book in for study club, and wait in the Community Lounge. There will be a running order on the notice board outside Room 40.

Speyside High Schools School Play!

This is the official blog for Speyside High School's 08/09 School Play, I Spent Six Year at High School and all I got was This Lousy Education or This Lousy Education for short.

It is a comedy, though with a clear positive message, and is set in a nameless School in the North East of Scotland (not too far from Rothes or Dufftown).

Auditions will be taking place this term (keep an eye on the Pupil notes), though auditions won't be necessary for Chorus parts.

The creative process will be a lot of fun for anyone with more than a passing interest in Drama, and though you will be expected to show dedication and responsibility, I anticipate this being a Highlight of the Years calendar for all those involved, as well as the audiences.
